MICRO PARK-ING
Brief: Proposal for an environmentally - friendly means of transport.
Location: Any
Organised by: Musée du Design, Saint-Etienne, France
Date: 2004 (International Design Competition)
The decision to restrict the number of motor vehicles that have access to the city centre raises the following questions:
What can we do with the space that has traditionally been reserved as parking spots along all the streets? This project explores the different implications of what a journey means. Priority is given to environmentally friendly public transport and to a journey through the creation of an infinite garden. This linear park is composed of ‘mini’ gardens, each occupying the former parking space, accessible and dedicated to the siesta and to an interior journey.
